Samsung Omnia Ringtone and SMS Setup

The Samsung Omnia 2 is one of the latest smartphones Samsung has to offer with other competitors like Nokia, LG and Apple. The Omnia 2 is the latest version for the Omnia series. It has a full 3.7 touch screen with 60 million colors. The Samsung Omnia 2 i8000 handset has a 5 megapixel camera. Unlike other models you do not need a pencil for navigation. With its sleek design it surely will grab your attention. Once you turn on the phone, you will be surprised as to how the graphics are sharp and precise. Even the small text is readable. Interface can be easily changed. As a windows phone, you can personalize it as you want with wallpapers, text size, ringtones and themes.

You can set up your Omnia by personalizing it as often as you want. There are a lot of Samsung Omnia users who are not aware of how to maximize the capabilities of the phone. They are not sure as to where they can put music or tones and use them as ringtones or sms tones. This article will give you an overview of haw you can set up your ringtone and your sms tone.

Setting up your ringtones:

You have to copy and then paste your music/ringtones to My Documents or My Ringtones Folder. By doing this you will be able to select the music or tone from the Sounds and Notifications setup page. You can save music in your memory card. It is going to be labeled as My Storage. You can either buy an 8GB card or a 16GB card.

Make sure you create a folder labeled My Ringtones under My Storage. Put all your songs on the folder. Then you can setup which ringtone you want for the day. You can change your ringtones and set them up as often as you want. It is up to you as what you want for the day.

Setting up your SMS tones:

Setting up your Text message tone is quite fun as well. It is good to hear a funny tone when someone sends you a text message. What you have to do is copy and paste all the SMS tones you want to your Windows folder. Make sure that the tones are stored in the Windows folder itself and not sub-directories. Do not put tones in any sub folder within the Windows folder. You can also place the tones in My Storage by placing it still under the Windows Folder.

Assign Ringtones and SMS Tones:

In assigning tones got o Main Menu > Settings > Sounds and Notifications. Click on the tab-Notifications and select the type of notice. Then choose the tone you want to personalize your phone.

*You can also change the location of the ringtones and sms tones anytime you want but just make sure that when you change the location you also edit the registry so that the phone knows where to look for the tone when someone calls you or send you a message.
