Ryan Leslie Will Give a $1,000,000 Reward

Ryan Leslie remains calm even though his laptop was stolen. He lost his computer in Germany and is giving a hefty reward for anyone who can give it back to him. He said, “I lost my computer out here in Germany. I actually had my whole new album on there, which I had been working on in secret, and it got stolen. So right now I got a million dollar reward for anybody that can return my intellectual property to me.”

He was working on Less Is More, an album which is a creative departure from his Transition and his self-titled debut. He said that his collaboration with Banks is a good indicator that he is going to do things which people are not expecting him to do. He hinted, “Just listen to the other two albums.” He believes that there is great space for collaboration in the music industry especially in hip hop. As he puts it, “I was putting together a bunch of really dope soundscapes that I could collaborate with my favorite artists on.”

Furthermore, he said, “I’ve always been a fan of Banks, and I’m good friends with Dre McKenzie, who’s the A&R over there [at G-Unit].” When I actually saw the behind-the-scenes of Banks and Lloyd, I reached out and said, ‘Man, I really want to be a part of this project.’ ” Some of the artist he has been talking to are Trey Songz and Pharrell and also Kanye West.

Leslie would definitely be grateful if he got his stolen laptop back but continues to say that he will push forward with his music plans. “I think right now it’s really just an opportunity for me to just regroup. Anything that I don’t remember, maybe it shouldn’t have been on that album, and anything that I do remember, we going to re-record it,” he said.

A million dollars is a big reward for a laptop but, the intellectual property is what Leslie is after. Hopeful that he might be to get his intellectual property back, he will not be stopped from making this new album happen. He is thinking of recording around the world and his next stop is Paris. He even invited Banks and said, “so Banks, if you want to come, spend a couple weeks out in Paris, a couple days, I’ll be out there for a couple weeks, re-recording everything, getting some inspiration, and look for the album top of the year.”

Ryan Leslie is expected to release the album after he has toured the world and regrouped his team to collaborate. He can be more careful this time as not to waste effort and time by getting his material stolen. Sad fact that these things happen, but good thing to note is that Ryan has positively taken this mishap as an opportunity to make things new.
