How to Download Ringtones Via Bluetooth

It is easy to download Bluetooth ringtones if only you know how to do it. In fact, the term ‘Bluetooth ringtones’ is not quite technically correct, because Bluetooth do not provide ringtones, it’s only the means to transfer them from your PC or laptop to your cell phone.

The procedure is that you first have to of course find a source of ringtones, if that is what you want. Quite frankly, although ring tones actually cost nothing to download, you have to consider if it is really worth it, considering that they are either of very poor quality, have a limited range of mobile phones that they can be used on, or are old music.

If you compare these Bluetooth ringtones to what you get for a relatively small monthly payment, it is probably a truly better deal to pay for them. Most web sites offer real ringtones for from $5.99 a month upwards, with $9.99 about average. For that small cost from your pocket, you can get unlimited downloads of real ring tones and wallpapers. What would you rather have my friend? Ringtones that are old and not to mention embarrassing or the best and newest you can get, renewable every day if you want, well that’s just for 33 cents a day?

Do you really want to be the guy or gal who has to excitingly answer that phone ringing out Leapy Lee or Home Sweet Home? I am not exaggerating. However, this article is not about what are the ringtones you want to be answering, but about how to get them function well into your mobile phone using Bluetooth.

You are going to obviously need a Bluetooth dongle, although the reason why it is called a dongle is unknown. It must be boys and their toys I guess, because we all know how most guys like to play with their dongles. Dangling your dongle is a well-loved pastime in some quarters! So, get your dongle now: you can buy one on eBay for under $10 including the postage fee, and install it onto your computer using the installation disk for you to get started. It looks a bit like the USB memory stick, and you simply insert your dongle into the available slot and make the connection to the software.

You also need a cell phone that has Bluetooth basically. To find out if yours is really suitable, go to ‘services’ or ‘settings’ and check out ‘Connections’. If you have a Bluetooth, you will see either the name or the Bluetooth logo – this is a white double triangle making the letter ‘B’ on a blue background.

What you have to do now is to start the search on your computer for the downloaded Bluetooth ringtones, and then activate the Bluetooth on your mobile phone. You can now eventually browse the cell phone folders using your PC or laptop – Bluetooth provides the interface that allows this. It’s just like browsing easily through any directory structure, and once you have found the area in which your ringtones are stored on your very own mobile phone, you can either copy and paste those you want to transfer from your computer, or simply do the dragging and dropping if you are using two windows.

The dongle provides the needed interface between your PC or laptop, and allows you to transfer the Bluetooth ringtones from one to the other. You can also do the very same the other way – transfer files from your cell phone to your PC, and you can also use the same procedure to upload wallpapers and games to your personal mobile phone.

That’s how it’s done, although the said term Bluetooth ringtones is a misnomer, because what all of these Bluetooth does is to provide a means of transferring MP3 and MIDI files from your computer to your mobile. So, whether you want to use the genuinely ringtones or pay a nominal sum to have unlimited downloads of the latest chart hits, a Bluetooth dongle will always enable you to do so quickly and effortlessly.
