Change your Ringtones with iRingPro

Ringtones have been an indispensable part of mobiles since their inception – and by “their” it’s actually difficult to decide which we mean more, because these two came up practically hand in hand. Mobile phones have been in our hands and pockets for more than a decade, and ringtones have been in step with them in evolution since the beginning. At first mere ringing sounds approximating the style of a landline phone’s bell, ringtones soon became beeps and hums aping the melody of popular tunes and original ditties. As phones evolved, though, so did ringtones, every last step of the way.

First, ringtones went from single-track MIDI-type arrangements to multiple MIDI-style tracks overlaid on each other to more closely approach the sound quality of the actual songs they were imitating. This was accompanied by composer features on cellular phones, which gave notes-and-pitches-savvy owners the ability to make their own ringtones. Soon, however, mobile phones had the speaker sophistication to pull off actual sound clips as ringtones, and that was quickly the way that ringtones went – with truetones or realtones that were actual clips of the songs they were made from. This innovation also allowed voice clips and sound effects to make the scene as ringtones of their own.

Now, while ringtones seem to have fallen on hard times as commodities – users are increasingly able to make their own for free – interest is still high. Arrivals of such sophisticated models as the iPhone have jumpstarted interest in ringtones, what with the iPhone’s iTunes software making ringtones available just as easily as apps or as the full music tracks iTunes is known for. However, even the iPhone has its limits – the basic ringtones it provides may be too overused for some, and the ringtones available for purchase might seem too pricey for others. While the GarageBand app does provide the means to make good iPhone ringtones, it’s not always easy.

Thankfully, a collection of well-designed, high-quality ringtones is currently available from iRingPro. Sometimes called “ringtones for adults” or for “sophisticated users,” iRingPro’s ringtones step over the line from cartoony-sounding ringtones and bring a sense of style to the iPhone’s sonic landscape. However, they’re also flexible – while soothing to the ear and stylish indeed, these ringtones also double well as iPhone alarms.

The Zen 2, Origin and Tek sound collections provide altogether interesting options – available as Meeting Grade or Active Grade tones, these ringtones can be subtle, soft and rich for when you’re at a professional gathering or resonant, strident and present, for when you’re driving or out in the open. The tones are also available with a variety of available pauses in between the repetitions of each ring, allowing you to choose a ringtone that can repeat continuously or give you a few seconds to answer before sounding off another time.

These tones also add a new wrinkle to the ringtone experience: the Multi-Tone, which allows you to choose a particular tone with three different sounds with silence inserted intermittently between them. This allows you as a user to determine the length of time it takes before the call you pass on is sent to voicemail. Regrettably, not all the tones are available as Multi-Tones, but there are plenty of tones available overall and $9.95 per collection is a solid deal.
