Here we go again! American Idol Season 10 started auditions and we are off to a great season of more songs and more ringtones. Before American Idol, Lee DeWyze was a clerk at a paint store, Kris Allen studied in college, David Cook bartended and Christ Daughtry was working at a car dealership. All these people have had their lives running until the twist of the American Idol dream. One audition changed their lives forever. Once again, American Idol opens the door for American hopefuls to prove that they can be the next American Idol. This opportunity should not be taken for granted and if you have the talent then grab that audition and try to get hold of a golden ticket.
We are to hear more from aspiring singers since the opportunity was given to a bigger range of people this time. In celebration of it’s 10th anniversary and in trying to look for the talent of the year across the nation, the age range is now 15-28 instead of 16 as the youngest hopeful. “A lot of young, talented people are now seeking careers and representation before they turn 16,” said Cecile Frot-Coutaz, executive producer of American Idol. “Lowering the age limit allows us to tap into this talent pool.”
Last week, we saw Steven Tyler debut as an American Idol judge. American Idol fans have been wondering about Tyler’s role an American Idol judge. The Aerosmith front man said, “I kind of take what I’ve grown up with, which is being a very harsh judge of myself—my own vocals, my own band—and kind of laid that across the talent that comes across my view. I’m not going in there to be a harsh judge or an overly bearing judge. I’m just bringing my Italian on how to work a room, Aunt Phyllis honesty, 40 years that front guy in Aerosmith who’s judged the hell out of himself and kind of made a good career out of it, and with hopes to find some kids in America here for American Idol to take the stage and no more, no less. I think it’s funny. I think there’s love up there you’ll never see—certainly, there’s camaraderie that you haven’t seen in 10 years. I’m really happy that I get along with Randy so well. J. Lo is a fox. She’s also street. She’s also got a good big heart. We’ve seen a lot of people this year and we’ve got our Top 40, so we’re ready to go.” (source: AmericanIdol.com)
So what are we to expect this season with the new judges Jenifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. Will it be another rollercoaster ride? Will American Idol be the same with Simon Cowell’s sharp deadly dagger comments? Needless to say, this season is a season which we can expect more twists and turns because we have these three judges who are masters at what they do, judge American Idol Season 10. More auditions to come, more songs to sing, more ringtones to come.
