A Surprising Breakthrough for Wildlife Ringtones

wildlife_photo_screensaver_29076The Ringtone industry has continued to progress through the years. Service providers and other big companies collaborate with each other to make the latest and most popular ringtones accessible to the consumers. As the New Year unwraps, more and more innovations from the mobile industry are being offered to millions of mobile phone users all around the world.

About a year ago, The Center for Biological Diversity began offering wildlife ringtones free of charge. This was also done to better educate people on the current dilemma of our wildlife. Because of its success the environmental group has decided to bring together even more ringtones and expand their website this year. They are planning to release a variety of new wildlife ringtones for every month.

“We’ve hit the 100,000th download in over 150 countries. It’s pretty interesting. We didn’t realize how much of an international hit it would become.” Peter Galvin, The Center for Biological Diversity group’s director said. The positive reaction that they got from the consumers just strengthens the movement to help our wildlife’s rare and endangered species. The ongoing global crisis needs everyone’s cooperation and help. Certain groups make it possible for a lot of less informed citizens to be more knowledgeable about certain information to help out on the global crisis.

The wildlife ringtones include sounds from an African elephant and the Antarctic’s Emperor Penguins. Other included animal sounds are Arctic whales, Mexican gray wolves, laughing hyenas, exotic birds and reptiles from all around the world. The group’s website also offers wallpapers and information about each species presented. It is also said that the website will later on be available in Spanish and a lot more ringtones will be made available.

Peter Galvin is the one responsible for the concept of making the wildlife ringtones free to the public. It is one way to get to the people, more especially the younger generation who are more technically inclined and have more access to the internet. He has also been planning a trip to Ecuador and Peru to gather more animal and nature sounds and create them into ringtones. This can certainly be a difficult task to do but because of the strong commitment that Galvin has for his mission, he continues to surprise himself to accomplish more.

The wildlife ringtones offered on the website have been collected by numerous researchers worldwide. The environmental advocates are also hoping that this will get people talking and become more interested in taking care of nature. “I’d like to think of nature’s diversity as a symphony,” Peter Galvin said, “and extinction is like one of the instruments in the symphony going silent.”

Since the ringtone industry has become very popular and influential nowadays. This is a great way to send out a message to the consumers all around the world. We can’t deny that each of us have a responsibility to take care of our Mother Earth. Being interested in small things such as wildlife ringtones can be an important start to a brighter future for our wildlife.
